Ellen Hunter-Perkins
Chief Executive Officer
B.Sc., B.Ed.
Ellen is the Chief Executive Officer of Anomalous Exploration. She has a Bachelors of Earth Science and Biology from UVic, and a Bachelors of Education from UBC and has been working in mineral exploration since 2011. Ellen loves field work, collecting data, being in nature and having animated discussions with peers, mentors and students. She was drawn to mineral exploration by her curiosity about complex geological discoveries and having the opportunity to spend the entire day hiking outside. Founding Anomalous Exploration allowed Ellen to do the work she loves while making tangible reductions in the environmental impact of operations. She is now focused on systems to collect quality data and operate in the field with the smallest environmental impact possible.
Trevor Tamburri
Chief Technical Officer
B.A.Sc., P.Geo, P.Eng.
Trevor is the Chief Technical Officer of Anomalous Exploration. He has a Bachelors of Applied Science in Geological Engineering and is both an EGBC Professional Geoscientist and Engineer. He has been working in the exploration and mining sector since 2010. Trevor loves to explore in the mountains and is passionate about ensuring that samples are collected accurately and systemically. Trevor was drawn to mineral exploration by the promise of working outside and learning about earth processes. Founding Anomalous granted Trevor more control over his life and allowed him to work with friends and like minded people. Trevor is focused on ensuring that work is completed to the highest quality on time and on budget.
Ryan Nelson
Chief Financial Officer
B.A., M.L.I.S.
Ryan is Anomalous Exploration’s Chief Financial Officer. He has a Masters in Library and Information Science from McGill and a BA from Queen's. He is a level three candidate in the Chartered Financial Analyst program. Ryan has been involved in mineral exploration since 2006. He was initially drawn to exploration by love of wilderness, travel and adventure, and he became fascinated by the business and financial aspects of our industry. Ryan is passionate about social entrepreneurship and impact investing. He focuses on financial and governance aspects of our company while continuously developing strategies to improve environmental and social outcomes.
Jesse Ashwell
Chief Operating Officer
B.Ed.
Jesse is the Chief Operations Officer of Anomalous Exploration. He has a Bachelors of Education from UVIC, a Trades Teacher diploma from Okanagan College and has been working in mineral exploration since 2012. Jesse loves hiking and prospecting in the mountains and living in small field camps in remote locations. Jesse was originally drawn to mineral exploration by the promise of exploring beautiful wild places and hunting for interesting rocks. Working within Anomalous Exploration allows Jesse to pursue his love of fieldwork while developing creative ways to reduce the environmental impacts of mineral exploration. Jesse is now focused on optimizing logistics, training crews and customizing camps and equipment.
